This case study describes a Lean and Environment Pilot Project conducted at a Lasco Bathware (Lasco) facility in to integrate lean manufacturing and environmental methods to improve productivity and reduce waste. The Lasco facility, located in Yelm, Washington, manufactures fiber-reinforced plastic and acrylic tub and shower units.

A Project Management Institute conference paper by Aziz Moujib describes Lean project management as the application of Lean manufacturing principles to the project management process.

This is in an effort to achieve the same goal: maximizing value while minimizing waste. It draws from a set of five core principles identified in the book Lean.

Lean & Environment Case Study: Lasco Bathware The Washington State Department of Ecology’s (Ecology) Hazardous Waste and Toxics Reduction Program and Washington Manufacturing Services (WMS) partnered in a lean and environment pilot project to provide technical assistance to a Lasco Bathware (Lasco) facility in Yelm, Washington.

This revised case study describes a lean and environment pilot project conducted in with Canyon Creek Cabinet Company (Canyon Creek) that integrated lean and environmental methods to improve productivity and reduce waste.

In addition, the case study outlines post-pilot project implementation. The following Lean Enterprise Institute case study reveals how Thrustmaster of Texas successfully adopted lean thinking and practices to make sustainable improvements in a short period of time, and how other manufacturers of highly engineered, low-volume products can follow their lead using the Lean Transformation Framework.

A case study was conducted to test how Lean management philosophy could be applied in a warehousing process in Vietnam. Kuehne+Nagel warehouse provided a good ground for a pilot project since the Lean management philosophy is employed there only by the management level of the company at the moment and not.

Lean Enterprise Institute 1 The Role of the Pilot Project in Effective Organizational Change By Louis English Pilot projects are used often to introduce Lean technologies and tools to interested companies.

Working level pilots are a way for the corporate leadership to see these. This case study is one of three highlighting successes identified as part of the Operational Excellence in Government Lean and environment pilot project case study book.

The purpose of the case studies is to elevate and document the successes, and in doing so to provide a greater amount of detail than is typically available about such efforts. The pilot really is a chance for trial and error, so find out what worked and what didn't.

Especially if you're planning to roll out the new technology on a large scale, you need to be able to troubleshoot issues that came up during the pilot program.

Both seek to validate the capability of the proposed process to meet or exceed project objectives and identify problems. However, the DMEDI pilot is a permanent, full-scale deployment. We all like to know about the broader philosophies behind process improvements, but sometimes we need to knuckle down and look at some of the more technical details.

One of the core techniques behind any process improvement, particularly in Six Sigma, is DMAIC. This handy approach, pronounced duh-may-ik, is the key to employing Six Sigma and beginning your journey to being a. The Children’s Cases Pilot Project Jennifer E.
